My toddler has been sliding the beads back and forth for weeks and the paint hasn't chipped once. The hardwood base is heavier than I expected, so it stays put instead of tipping over mid-count.
The beads are so smooth and brightly colored that my daughter actually asks to practice counting now. I love that all 100 are easy for her little fingers to slide, and the frame feels sturdy enough for years of use.
The solid hardwood base has survived my toddler throwing it off the table twice already, and the 100 beads still slide smoothly on their rows. My four-year-old counts them during breakfast, and the bright colors keep her attention way longer than her plastic toys did.
