This creative and practical safari-themed activity pad is a cut above for kids who are developing fine motor skills! Melissa and Doug’s Safari Scissor Skills gives an engaging, creative direction to scissor work, meaning more concentration and less mess. Organized from simple to more complex, 20 different paper cutting projects (with complete supplies included right in the pages of the book) practice slightly different skills and techniques, and produce 20 unique crafts, games, and activities to offer kids four and older a creative focus and a sense of accomplishment. Plastic safety scissors are included, which naturally encourage proper form and are safe for preschoolers--but any pair of scissors can be used to complete the paper-cutting projects.

Violet G. ★★★★★

My four-year-old actually asks to do this instead of watching cartoons, which says a lot. The pages get progressively trickier, so he started with straight lines and now he's cutting out the lion's mane without help.

Brian ★★★★★

The little safety scissors that come with this pad are perfect for my 5-year-old, and the safari animal outlines give her a clear path to follow instead of just random snipping. She's been cutting out the zebra and elephant pages all week and barely needs my help anymore.

Stella ★★★★★

My 4-year-old actually sits still for these, which is saying something. The safari animal pages give her a reason to cut along the lines instead of just shredding paper, and the scissors glide through without tearing. We've gone through half the pad in a week.
