I grabbed this for a road trip and my 6-year-old stayed busy for almost two hours scratching out the sea turtle. The spiral binding means the pages don't flop around, which is a small thing but it matters in the car.

The wooden stylus tucks right into the spiral binding, so we haven't lost it once on three road trips. My 5-year-old scratched a whole seahorse before the colors even started showing, and the reveal kept her busy the entire flight.

The spiral binding and the little storage slot for the stylus are what sold me — nothing gets lost in the car. My daughter scratched through half the sea life pages in one sitting and the colors underneath are surprisingly vivid.
