I was skeptical that a water-only pad would actually show color, but the pigment is printed right into the pages and it really works. My 4-year-old spent a solid 40 minutes on the construction page, and I didn't have to clean up a single spill.
Bought this for my 4-year-old on a road trip and it kept him busy for almost an hour with zero mess. The 24 pages have just enough detail that he feels like he's really painting, and the pigment's already printed so I don't have to pack anything but water.
